As part of our work at Aba Studios, we interviewed over 30 small businesses across Eindhoven to validate our concept. These conversations were eye-opening and confirmed that the digital divide for small enterprises is real. Here are the key insights we gathered:

1. Time is the biggest barrier

Most owners said marketing falls to the bottom of the to-do list. They’re running shops, serving clients, managing operations, and marketing becomes "when I have time," which unfortunately often means never.

2. Agencies feel too expensive

Many entrepreneurs felt disconnected from traditional agencies or overwhelmed by retainers and hidden fees. There's a clear gap between DIY and high-end agency services.

3. DIY tools are confusing or ineffective

Half of the business owners told us they simply don’t know where to start or how to keep content consistent across multiple platforms.
